The Unveiling: the story of open contact
Panic grips the world, as a nuclear showdown in the Middle East threatens to engulf the world in an atomic fireball. Suddenly, millions of people vanish off the face of the planet and not even the world's best scientists can explain why, leaving many to speculate that the disappearances were the result of some new secret weapon fired in the growing tensions in the Middle East standoff.
Soon however, the leaders of the world, via a special worldwide television broadcast, introduce the citizens of all nations to a powerful race of beings known as the Balazons. Shocking words of revelation from Khur-ak, the alien leader, threaten to destabilize the world, as the aliens claim to have been invisibly influencing human development for millions of years and are the "gods" that humans have always worshipped. They've been watching us for millennia ... now it's our turn to see them!

Though written as fiction, "The Unveiling" is a credible open contact scenario. When confronted with the mysteries of existence, those who don't believe in some sort of personal God generally subscribe to the modern scientific view that the universe came into existence at a cosmic "big bang" explosion billions of years ago, and everything (including life forms) subsequently evolved slowly through natural processes spanning these many billions of years. In his book The Origin of Species, first published in 1859, Charles Darwin was the first to successfully popularize this concept of evolution in relation to organic life. Ever since then, Darwin's biological evolutionary beliefs have been hotly debated between two camps: believers in a personal Creator and skeptics.
If evolution is true, then it is logically possible that other beings exist farther along the evolutionary scale than humans, the "gods" humans have always worshipped, and humans are evolving to such a state too. These beings might have interacted with ancient humans and influenced our beliefs about God for some grand purpose beyond our understanding. As technology advances, are we ready to understand what extraterrestrials might reveal about our concepts of God? Will they show themselves soon?
Many would fear such contact, citing dark forces and cosmic struggles described in religious texts. Would these aliens be demons trying to deceive us? Or might there be evolutionary reasons for our beliefs in angels, demons, and God? Discover the truth and prepare – open contact is coming!
